Local Arrangements

Room Setup

Every event is different, and we’d like to discuss specific arrangements with you as part of our preparation to come on site. But in general, we prefer the following:

  • For keynotes:
    • Podium
    • Side table next to the podium for the laptop
  • For workshops:
    • Classroom style seating
    • Utility table for the laptop and our notes
    • Flip chart and pens at the front of the room
    • Flip charts (or sticky flip chart paper), pens, masking tape, and tack-able wall surfaces for small group activities
    • 3x5 Post-it notes for small group activities
    • Scotch tape for the few Post-its that invariably come unstuck

A/V and IT Preferences

  • For keynotes and workshops:
    • 2 wireless lavaliere microphones, but only if the audience is 50+ people or the acoustics are especially bad
    • Data projector and screen
    • We'll bring a laptop with Microsoft PowerPoint
    • Internet connectivity not required

Handouts

  • For keynotes:
    • We prefer not to provide handouts for keynote presentations, but are happy to provide materials for mounting on your intranet after the event.
  • For workshops:
    • We will provide handouts in Word format for you to print out and distribute.

Recording Us

We are happy to allow recording of our presentations for in-house use only.

Evaluations

We encourage clients to consider waiting at least a week after we’ve been on site before conducting the evaluation of our work. That way you get feedback on the impact of our visit, not just reviews of our performance as presenters or comments about food service and room temperature.

For examples of this kind of follow-up evaluation, see:

Extra Credit

George is a black coffee kind of a guy. Joan is definitely fueled by Diet Coke. Neither has any preference regarding M&M colors.

We encourage you to think green and recycle all cans and bottles from refreshments served at our meetings and presentations. We thank you and the environment thanks you!
